The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak is widely considered one of the most iconic timepieces in the history of horology. Originally released in 1972, the Royal Oak has seen continuous evolution over the years. One of its most notable innovations came in 1993 with the introduction of the Chronograph Complication, featured in the launch of the Royal Oak Offshore model.
The Royal Oak Offshore 25721, nicknamed “The Beast” for its 42mm case size, paved the way for future Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronographs. However, the Offshore was often criticized for lacking the elegance of the classic Royal Oak. In response, Audemars Piguet introduced a more refined version of the Chronograph within the Royal Oak collection in 1998, with launch of the Royal Oak Chronograph 25860 and 25960 models.

On the right side of the watch, a top pusher starts and stops the stopwatch, while a bottom pusher resets it for the next use.
