Rolex Everose Yacht-Master 116655
In 2015, Rolex released a timepiece that was a first of many - the Ever Rose Yacht-Master 116655. Most notably, it was the first time Rolex ever released a watch on an oysterflex (rubber) sport bracelet. It was also the first Yacht-Master to feature a ceramic bezel, which looks striking in this matte black iteration. It is important to note, though, that the core of the oysterflex bracelet is titanium and nickel, ensuring durability and (to be honest) value. The comfort of the oysterflex is undoubtedly - however, there is a drawback. There are no links to add or remove from the oysterflex bracelet, unlike a typical oyster bracelet. As such, only very slight sizing adjustments can be made within the clasp.
The 116655 had a successful 4 year production run, and was replaced by the 126655 - which is still currently in production. Aesthetically the 116655 and 126655 are very similar, with the major difference being an upgraded movement. The 116655’s 3135 caliber movement was swapped with a more efficient 3235 caliber movement, resulting in a 70 hour power reserve.
The innovation, comfort, and aesthetics of the 116655 allows it to remain a highly desirable timepiece, even years after the discontinuation of the model. I certainly would not bet against the 116655 continuing to increase in value, considering it truly was the first of its kind in many regards - and, it is so strikingly appealing with its matte black bezel contrast against the everose case. This timepiece is perfect for someone who prefers a more comfortable sport model Rolex, but still desires the value of a precious metal timepiece. It’s also a very versatile watch for someone looking to not hold many watches in their collection - and wants a piece they can wear on every occasion. The 116655 can easily be both dressed up and dressed down - easy to wear in both a suit and on a casual Sunday in joggers. There also definitely is comfort in knowing that the watch is no longer in production, so the value box is certainly checked off. We currently have a 2016 unworn 116655 everose Yacht-Master in stock, which includes all original manufacturer warranty paperwork and boxes.
